DMS MagnusMaster

Gently through every wave: Efficient roll reduction at low speeds.

Innovative stabilisation for yachts up to 30 metres.

More comfort and safety with less driving.

The DMS MagnusMaster is a modern rotor stabiliser, specially developed for displacement and semi-displacement yachts. Its particular strength: Outstanding roll stabilization at low speeds of 3 to 12 knots. If the speed exceeds 12 knots, the system automatically retracts – this keeps resistance to a minimum and the handling unchanged.

The Magnus Effect

The principle of the Magnus effect

The technology is based on a physical principle that was already described in the 19th century by Heinrich Magnus: the Magnus effect. This effect generates a strong lateral force through rotating cylinders, which effectively counteracts rolling movements. DMS has perfected this technology with modern electrical engineering and long-lasting premium components.

Flexible for new builds and retrofitted installations

The MagnusMaster is suitable for both new build projects and retrofitting. Thanks to its compact dimensions and flexible positioning, a suitable installation location can almost always be found – without complex modifications in the engine room.

  • Installations with 1, 2 or 4 rotors possible
  • Fully electric – no hydraulics needed
  • Installation usually possible within a few weeks

Advantages over classic fin stabilizers

Maximum comfort

  • Noticeably effective from 3 knots
  • Significantly reduces the risk of seasickness
  • Very quiet operation thanks to few moving parts
  • Simple control via a coloured touchscreen, also integrable into the vehicle's electrical system

Reliability and low maintenance

  • Direct drive without V-belt
  • Maintenance-free bearings
  • No hydraulics, no leaks, no susceptible pressure lines

Compact and foldable

  • Rotor units automatically retract when not in use
  • Protection against damage in shallow water or during transport
  • Minimal impact on fuel consumption

Well-thought-out security concept

  • Automatic retraction of the rotors when the drive goes to neutral or fails
  • Maximum safety when manoeuvring and docking
